Voice sticky notes for macOS

Don't write it down.
Say it down.

Tap right ⌘ and speak. Saydown turns what you say into sticky notes on your desktop — and when one is due, it comes and finds you.

How it works

Tap, speak, done.

right ⌘

Tap right ⌘

One tap starts listening — from any app, any Space. Tap again when you're done.

Say what's on your mind

Groceries, deadlines, half-ideas — in any language your Mac speaks.

It's on your desktop

Each thought becomes its own note — timed, if you said a time.

Reminders that stay

When something is due, it finds you.

Notifications vanish the moment you swipe them. Saydown's notes don't — a due note floats above your windows and glows until you deal with it.

White No time. Quiet.
Amber Timed. Counting down.
Red Due now. Impossible to miss.

Optional — with your own Anthropic, OpenAI, or DeepSeek key. Without one, notes keep your exact words.

Privacy

Nothing to collect, so we don't.

No server, no account

Saydown runs entirely on your Mac. There is nothing to sign into and nothing running on our side.

Notes stay on your Mac

Stored locally, never uploaded, synced, or shared. Delete the app and they're simply gone.

Nothing is collected

No analytics, no tracking, no crash reports, no telemetry. We can't see how you use Saydown — by design.

Your key, your provider

With your own API key, dictated text goes only to the provider you chose, under their terms. Remove the key and nothing leaves your Mac.

Terms

The short, honest terms.

Effective July 2026

  • Saydown is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is a beta-quality product under active development; things may break.
  • A license (when purchased) is personal, perpetual for the version you bought, and covers up to 2 of your own Macs. Don't redistribute license keys.
  • Refunds: within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. Write to hello@saydown.com.
  • Your notes are yours. We never hold your data, so we can never withhold it. If the app stops being developed, everything you created keeps working on your Mac.
  • We may update these terms as the product evolves; the current version always lives on this page.
  • Operated by a UK limited company. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions: hello@saydown.com

FAQ

Quick answers.

Is Saydown free?

Yes, right now. Optional AI rewriting uses your own API key, so AI costs stay between you and your provider.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Speech recognition runs on your Mac and notes are parsed locally. Only the optional AI rewriting needs a connection.

Which languages can I speak?

Any language your Mac's speech recognition supports — you can change it in Settings. Notes keep the language you spoke.

How is this different from Apple Reminders?

Reminders notify you once, and the notification disappears. Saydown's notes live on your desktop; when one is due it floats above your windows and glows until you deal with it. It's a reminder that can't be swiped away.

Can it catch ideas without breaking my flow?

That's what the hotkey is for: tap right ⌘ from any app — mid-code, mid-prompt, mid-call — say the idea, tap again, keep working. No app to open, no window to find. If you run a one-person business, your ideas are the inventory; this is the shortest path from your head to somewhere safe.

Is Saydown useful for ADHD?

If notifications vanish faster than your attention switches, that's the exact problem Saydown is built around: notes stay on your desktop, and a due note physically comes back and glows until you deal with it. Out of sight never means out of mind. (It's not a medical tool — just a reminder that refuses to be forgotten.)

What does Saydown collect about me?

Nothing. No account, no analytics, no telemetry. Notes stay on your Mac. See Privacy above.
